Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane - driving fashion retail for Queensland.
Since its inception in 2006, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane has become recognised as Australia’s preeminent fashion event launching Spring/Summer collections and Queensland’s standalone, major runway programme.
In 2013, the Fashion Festival will return for its eighth year from Sunday 25 – Friday 30 August at our iconic new venue, City Hall.
The Fashion Festival is returning to City Hall after its turn down the runway in 2009, before the building closed for major renovations. Show-goers in 2013 will be among the first to set foot in the newly refurbished City Hall for a major event, following its reopening in April this year.
The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane showcases the very best of Queensland’s home-grown designers, fashion retailers and emerging talent alongside some of the biggest names in Australian and international fashion, creating a must-attend event for fashion enthusiasts with a firm focus on supporting the local industry.
Over eight years the Fashion Festival has:
- Showcased hundreds of designers, from the established to the emerging;
- Employed thousands of people, from models to hair and makeup teams and hospitality workers;
- Enlisted the help of a litany of volunteers;
- Hosted some of the most influential figures in Australian fashion media front-row, as well as countless fashion enthusiasts from all across Queensland and interstate; and
- Generated massive media exposure and millions of dollars in sales for participating designers and retailers.
Cementing its place on the Australian fashion calendar and attracting widespread national media coverage each year, the Fashion Festival provides a major platform to showcase our local design talent before an influential audience.
The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival is different to industry-only Fashion Weeks in that it is a consumer-driven event, directly promoting the local fashion industry by spotlighting new-season collections to a public audience as they drop in-store, rather than a season ahead.
This generates a huge amount of business for participating fashion designers and retailers, as guests who love what they see on the runway can hit the boutiques afterwards to shop the collection. The Fashion Festival creates a direct connection between the brands and the consumers, giving the industry and economy a significant lift.
The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane features a line-up of runway shows, discussion forums, high tea salon showings and many more stylish events throughout the week.
Join us in 2013 to bear witness to the immense talent and creativity of Queensland and Australia’s fashion industry and experience the pure thrill of cutting-edge Spring/Summer collections!
